Greg Cooley Wines is a small, boutique label, producing as little as 2,500 cases each year. Our wines are limited in quantity and are sold direct only.

Recently rated a 5 star winery in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2011 Edition, each of our wines are named after people who’ve been of influence to me over the years and their influence is as varied as the wine styles - from South Australian author Monica McInerney to my Greyhound vet Graham Beh!

Riesling is sourced from our home block at Penwortham where grapes are dry-grown and grapes for the red wines are sourced locally through a variety of other growers in the Leasingham Region.

Red wines are made in the traditional method – using small, open fermenters; hand-plunged wherever possible; basket pressed and then matured in French and American Oak 300L Hogsheads. Reds are made at Reilly’s Wines at Leasingham where I work part-time and whites where possible, are single vineyard, hand-picked and made at Paulett’s and Stonebridge Wines. Our Pinot Noir Chardonnay Bubbles is made ‘Traditional Methode’ in the Clare Valley, then tiraged and disgorged in the Barossa Valley.

We live in the small village of Penwortham in the Clare Valley with our pet greyhound Mickey and our philosophy is simple: ‘Good wines, good friends, grand times’. We hope you enjoy our wines responsibly, in moderation and in the company of good friends!

Cheers,

Greg Cooley
