Adelaide wine lunch at Vivu Vietnamese Kitchen

Forget a quick Sunday lunch. This is Clare Valley, slow and long. The kind of afternoon that starts with bubbles at noon and ends several hours later, full of good food, great wine, live music and the sort of stories you'll still be talking about on Monday.

No rushing. No checking the time between courses. Just settling in with a glass of wine, letting the conversation flow and allowing the afternoon to unfold exactly as it should.

Set against the backdrop of Port Adelaide's waterfront, Clare Valley winemaker Greg Cooley brings his range of wines and his famously relaxed, entirely unpretentious approach to the table. Guests enjoy bubbles on arrival, canapes, four courses and eight wines, with Greg sharing the stories behind the wines and his own journey as a winemaker along the way.

"It's the perfect mix," says Cooley. "People are looking for an experience, more than just another wine lunch."

And the entertainment is no afterthought. Joining him on the day is TENORI, the internationally renowned powerhouse trio whose repertoire leaps from grand opera to Aussie rock. Expect Puccini, Tom Jones, Les Miserables, The Bee Gees and a few unexpected detours along the way. Featuring David Kidd, Andrew Pryor and Stewart Morris, all alumni of The Ten Tenors. With every dish on the menu expertly paired to Greg's wines, you're in good hands for a perfectly palatable afternoon. Note to self: clear the cellar.
